Feature · Sales Proposal Automation

A sales proposal automation flow a rep can actually run alone.

A sales proposal automation flow is the pipeline that generates a branded proposal from CRM data, routes approval, delivers it to the buyer, and tracks signature. Strkr runs the flow native: deal data fills the template, discount tiers trigger manager approval, DocuSign or PandaDoc handles signature, and the deal auto-advances to Closed Won on signed.

What a proposal automation flow does

From deal data to signed order, in one surface.

A proposal automation flow is the sequence that turns a qualified deal into a signed order without the rep rebuilding the proposal in a doc tool, chasing the manager in Slack, and gluing a signature link into an email. Strkr runs the whole sequence in one place with CRM data as the source of truth.

Template picker

Pick the proposal shape by segment.

The rep picks a template: SMB new business, Mid-Market new business, Enterprise expansion, Renewal. Each template is a branded shell with the right legal, the right pricing table, and the right scope block. The template library is managed by RevOps so brand and legal stay consistent.

CRM data fill

Deal fields flow into the proposal.

Account name, contact, products, quantity, pricing, discount, close date, and legal entity flow from the CRM record into the proposal. The rep stops copying fields into a Google Doc. The proposal is a view on the deal, not a parallel artifact.

Products module quoting

Line items, bundles, discount tiers.

Strkr's Products module provides the quoting line items and bundles. The template renders the quote table from the Products pick. Volume breaks, bundles, and discount tiers resolve server-side so pricing is correct on every send.

Approval routing

Discount tiers trigger manager review.

Discounts above threshold trigger a manager approval. CFO sign-off kicks in above enterprise threshold. The approval chain is defined on the template, not improvised in Slack. The rep sees the status on the deal.

E-signature

DocuSign or PandaDoc, native.

Signature happens through DocuSign or PandaDoc. The flow pushes the generated proposal to the signature provider with the deal's signers pre-populated. The signature events post back to the deal timeline. The rep sees signed or awaiting on the deal.

Auto stage advance

Signed = Closed Won.

When the signature provider reports signed, Strkr auto-advances the deal to Closed Won, writes the signed date, kicks off the handoff flow to onboarding or finance, and triggers the commission calculation. The rep stops forgetting to update the stage.

How the automation is built

Templates, flow, approval, signature, handoff.

The proposal automation flow is a connected set of configurable pieces. RevOps owns the templates and approval policy. Sales ops owns the pipeline and stage behavior. Strkr's Flows automation layer glues the pieces. The sections below walk the building blocks.

Template library

Branded shells, versioned.

RevOps builds the proposal templates in the Docs module. Each template is versioned, has approval owners, and tags for which deals it applies to. The template library is read-only to reps. The versioning lets legal update terms without breaking in-flight proposals.

Deal binding

Fields bind to CRM paths.

Template fields bind to CRM paths: {{account.name}}, {{deal.amount}}, {{contact.title}}. The binding is declarative. When the deal changes, the next render picks up the new value. The template is a view, not a copy.

Approval policy

Discount, scope, legal entity.

The approval policy is a set of rules: discount above X requires manager, above Y requires CFO, above Z requires legal. Non-standard legal entity requires legal. Multi-year requires finance. The policy lives on the template and the Flows layer enforces it.

Flows triggers

Stage change, approval change, signature.

The automation is a set of Flows triggers. "Deal entered Proposal" opens the template picker. "Discount above 20%" opens the approval request. "Signature event received" advances the stage. Each trigger is readable in the Flows canvas.

Signature provider

DocuSign and PandaDoc, native.

Strkr integrates with DocuSign and PandaDoc. The provider holds the signature audit (counter-party identity, IP, timestamp). The flow pushes the generated proposal to the provider with signers pre-populated and listens for the signed event. No glue scripts.

Handoff automation

Signed deal auto-opens onboarding.

When the signature provider reports signed, Strkr auto-advances the deal, triggers the handoff flow to customer success, opens the onboarding project, writes the signed date to finance, and triggers commission calc. The rep goes home.

How teams run the proposal cycle

From proposal-stage entry to signed order.

The proposal automation flow is not a feature a rep uses once. It is the shape of the Proposal stage. The sections below walk the lifecycle from stage entry to signed order, with the rep, the manager, legal, and finance each at their touchpoint.

Enter Proposal stage

Workflow opens the template picker.

When the deal moves to Proposal, the workflow opens the template picker on the deal. The rep picks the template, Strkr generates the draft, and the rep reviews. The flow takes four minutes instead of forty.

Review and refine

The rep reads the generated draft.

The rep reads the generated proposal, edits the scope block if needed, confirms pricing, and finalizes. Edits that touch pricing roll back into the deal fields so the proposal and the deal never disagree. The rep stops typing in two places.

Request approval

Discount triggers the manager.

The rep hits request approval. The approval policy fires. If the discount is in-band the request auto-approves. If above threshold the manager gets the pending approval on their desktop with the deal context one click away. Approvals take minutes, not days.

Send for signature

DocuSign or PandaDoc, pre-populated.

On approval, the rep hits send for signature. The signature provider receives the proposal with signers pre-populated from the deal contacts. The buyer gets the signature email with a clean subject. The rep sees "sent" on the deal.

Nudge and track

Signature stalls, Strkr follows up.

When a signature stalls past the nudge threshold, Strkr fires a buyer-side reminder from the signature provider and an internal task to the rep. The rep sees the signature status on the deal next-step line.

Signed, Closed Won

The deal auto-closes and the handoff opens.

Signed event lands. The workflow advances the deal to Closed Won, writes the signed date, kicks off the handoff flow, opens the onboarding project, and fires the commission calc. The rep moves on to the next deal.

What the automation replaces

The copy-paste stack.

Most sales orgs produce proposals in a Google Doc copied from a shared template, pricing table pasted from a spreadsheet, approval chased in Slack, and signature glued in with a free DocuSign link. Strkr automates the whole chain. The sections below are the comparison.

Google Doc copy

Fast, lossy, versioned by chance.

The Google Doc copy of the master proposal template is the default. The rep copies, edits, and sends. The sales ops lead cannot audit which version shipped. Strkr renders from a versioned template so every proposal is a known artifact.

Spreadsheet pricing

Flexible, drift-prone.

Pricing in a spreadsheet drifts the moment the next price change ships. Strkr's Products module is the single pricing source. Templates render from Products. The spreadsheet era ends.

Slack approval

Fast, invisible, auditless.

Chasing a VP for discount approval in Slack is the common path. The approval is a thumbs-up emoji with no audit. Strkr runs approvals through the policy so the audit lives on the deal.

DocuSign manual send

Powerful, labor-heavy.

DocuSign is the signature standard. Manual send means the rep uploads the signed PDF to DocuSign and types in signer emails. Strkr pushes the generated proposal to DocuSign with signers pre-populated and listens for the signed event.

PandaDoc end-to-end

Credible, standalone.

PandaDoc's own proposal tool is a credible standalone. The cost is a second subscription and a second system for the CRM to sync against. Strkr integrates with PandaDoc as the signature layer and runs generation, approval, and handoff in the CRM.

Strkr

Native, versioned, auditable.

Proposal automation is included on every paid Strkr tier. Template library, CRM binding, approval policy, Products integration, DocuSign and PandaDoc integration, and auto stage advance. The seat price covers it.

Common questions

What buyers ask about this feature.

What is sales proposal automation?

Sales proposal automation is the pipeline that generates a branded proposal from CRM data, routes approval according to policy, delivers the proposal to the buyer for signature, and advances the deal when signed. In Strkr the whole pipeline is native: templates in the Docs module bind to deal fields, Flows runs the approval and handoff logic, Products supplies the pricing table, and DocuSign or PandaDoc handles signature. The rep stops copying fields between a CRM and a doc tool.

Does Strkr do e-signature natively?

No. E-signature is a specialized trust problem that belongs to a dedicated provider. Strkr integrates with DocuSign and PandaDoc as first-class signature partners. The generated proposal pushes to the provider with signers pre-populated, the signature events post back to the deal timeline, and the signed PDF stores on the deal. Signature audit (counter-party identity, IP, timestamp) lives in the provider where the audit standards expect it.

How does approval routing work?

Approval policy lives on the proposal template. The policy is a set of rules keyed on discount tier, scope, legal entity, and term length. On send-for-approval, Flows evaluates the policy and routes the request to the right role. The rep sees the pending approval on the deal. The approver sees the deal context one click from the approval. Auto-approve applies when the proposal is in-band. The audit of every approval event lives on the deal.

Can we have different proposal templates per segment?

Yes. RevOps builds templates in the Docs module for each sales motion: SMB new business, Mid-Market new business, Enterprise expansion, Renewal, and legal-entity variants. The template picker on the Proposal stage filters by segment and product. Each template has its own approval policy, its own legal boilerplate, and its own pricing block. The template library is versioned so legal can update terms without disturbing in-flight proposals.

What happens when the proposal is signed?

When DocuSign or PandaDoc reports the signed event, Strkr auto-advances the deal to Closed Won, writes the signed date, kicks off the configured handoff flow (customer success onboarding, finance notification), opens the onboarding project in Projects, and triggers commission calculation. The signed PDF stores on the deal. The rep moves on to the next deal without a manual close-out.

Is proposal automation included on every tier?

Yes. The template library, CRM binding, approval policy, Products integration, DocuSign and PandaDoc integration, and auto stage advance are included on every paid Strkr tier. Multi-template per segment with routing rules is included on Pro and above. There is no separate CPQ or proposal-automation SKU. DocuSign and PandaDoc are separately-paid signature services with their own pricing - Strkr integrates with them, Strkr does not meter their usage.
