Feature · Quote Automation

Quote automation that ships the quote in minutes, not days.

Quote automation is the mechanism that turns a product catalog and a deal into a branded, approved, signable quote without a Word-doc edit pass. Strkr ships the pricebook, discount rules, approval chain, PDF generation, and e-sign handoff on the deal record.

What quote automation covers

The pieces that make a quote actually ship.

A quote is deceptively small. The sections below describe the pieces Strkr automates so a rep assembles a quote in minutes rather than drafting one in a Word template and fighting formatting.

Pricebook

Product catalog with versioned prices.

Strkr's pricebook holds products, SKUs, list prices, tier breakpoints, and effective date ranges. A rep selects a product and the list price fills automatically. Pricing updates are versioned so quotes carry the pricing in effect when they were built.

Line items from the deal

The deal's products become the quote lines.

Products attached to the deal pre-populate as quote line items. The rep adjusts quantity, applies a discount, or swaps SKUs. The quote stays in sync with the deal, so a stage-change does not force a quote remake.

Discount rules

Thresholds that trigger approval.

Discount thresholds are configured per segment and per product. Under 10 percent self-approves. 10-25 percent routes to the rep's manager. Over 25 percent routes to manager + CFO. The thresholds live in Strkr, not in the Word template.

Approval chain

A quote above threshold routes for sign-off.

When a quote exceeds a discount threshold, the approval chain fires. The approver receives the quote with the justification, the deal context, and the discount math. The approver signs off or rejects with a note. The decision writes back to the quote.

Branded PDF

A quote that looks like your business.

The quote PDF is generated from a template with the tenant's logo, color, header, and footer. Line items, discount, totals, and legal terms land in the right places. The output is boardroom-ready, not a formatting fight.

E-sign handoff

The quote is sent for signature.

The quote routes to e-sign (DocuSign or PandaDoc via native integration). The signature event writes back to the deal, which can trigger the closed-won flow. The handoff removes the manual "mark the deal closed when the signature lands" step.

The rep experience

What a rep actually does to produce a quote.

The sections below walk the rep's path from deal to signed quote. The goal is minutes end to end, not days.

Open the deal

The quote tab is one click.

The rep opens the deal page and clicks the Quote tab. The quote scaffold is pre-populated with the deal's products and the deal context (account, contacts, close date). The rep is seconds from a complete draft.

Add or adjust lines

Pricebook search, inline edit.

The rep adds any missing line items from the pricebook with inline search. Quantities, SKU variants, and bundled items are adjusted inline. Totals and taxes recalculate automatically. No formulas to maintain in a spreadsheet.

Apply discount

Rep applies the agreed discount.

The rep applies the discount they agreed with the buyer. If the discount exceeds the self-approve threshold, Strkr immediately shows the approval chain and the expected turnaround. The rep enters the justification in a free-text block.

Route for approval

One click routes to the approver.

The rep clicks Submit for Approval. The flow routes to the configured chain. The rep sees the quote status as Pending Approval. The approver gets the request in Slack and in email with the full context. The rep is not chasing anyone.

Preview the PDF

See exactly what the buyer will open.

The rep previews the branded PDF before sending. The preview reflects the current state (approved, pending, draft). The preview is one click, not a round trip through a design tool. The rep catches a typo before the buyer does.

Send for signature

E-sign handoff takes one click.

Once approved, the rep clicks Send for Signature. The quote routes to DocuSign or PandaDoc with the recipient list from the deal. The signature event writes back to the deal when complete. The rep gets a notification; no polling.

What the automation enables

The compounding effects on the sales motion.

Quote automation is the mechanism; the effects are what matter. The sections below describe how the automation changes the sales motion downstream.

Faster deal cycles

The quote stops being the bottleneck.

In many mid-market deals the quote assembly is the single longest step between verbal agreement and signature. Quote automation collapses it from days to minutes. The cycle shortens by the same gap, which lifts quarterly throughput measurably.

Discount discipline

The approval chain enforces the policy.

Discount discipline often slips because the approval process is informal. Strkr's automation routes every out-of-policy discount through the correct chain. The CFO reads the discount roll-up and knows the policy is operational, not aspirational.

Fewer quote errors

Line items match the pricebook.

Manually copied Word quotes routinely carry typos, stale pricing, or wrong SKUs. Strkr's pricebook-driven quote eliminates the common error class. Finance stops receiving quotes with pricing that no longer applies.

Clean handoff to finance

Signed quote writes the invoice trigger.

When a quote is signed, Strkr Flows can notify finance with the exact line items, totals, and payment terms. The invoice-generation step runs on the quote data, not on a rep's transcription. Billing errors drop.

Audit trail

Every quote carries its own history.

Every edit, approval, send, and signature is captured on the quote record. The audit trail answers "what version did we send and who approved it?" in seconds. Compliance and renewal conversations run on the trail, not on email search.

Quote-level reporting

Approval cycle, discount by product, win rate by discount band.

The quote report rolls up approval cycle time by chain, discount leakage by product, and win rate by discount band. The sales ops lead reads the report monthly and adjusts the pricebook and discount thresholds based on the honest data.

Pricing and comparison

Quote automation in the 2026 market.

The sections below are the trade-offs across quoting tool classes and where Strkr lands on each one.

Salesforce CPQ

Deep, admin-heavy, upper-tier SKU.

Salesforce CPQ is the enterprise reference. The capability is deep (bundles, revenue recognition rules, multi-currency). The configuration demands an admin certification and the SKU sits well above the Sales Cloud seat. Strkr's quote automation covers the common 80 percent of CPQ without the admin tax.

DealHub, Conga, Qvidian

Credible, add-on seat.

Dedicated CPQ / quoting vendors ship capable products and charge per-user on top of the CRM. The integration layer with the CRM is often where the limits appear. Strkr's quote lives on the deal record directly, no sync pass.

HubSpot Quotes

Clean inside the HubSpot bundle.

HubSpot Quotes ships inside Sales Hub Pro. The capability is clean for simple quote structures. The limits appear on multi-currency, discount approval chains, and complex pricebooks. Strkr's quote automation covers those cases on the paid base tier.

Word template + manual edit

The honest default most teams use.

The majority of mid-market quotes still ship as Word documents from a shared template. The edit pass is manual, the pricing is error-prone, the approval is email-driven, and the audit trail is a search. Strkr's quote automation replaces the whole pass.

DocuSign / PandaDoc alone

Great signing, light on quoting.

DocuSign and PandaDoc are e-sign specialists. PandaDoc includes credible quoting; DocuSign is signature-first. Strkr integrates with both for the signing step and brings the pricebook + approval + reporting layer that neither covers deeply.

Strkr

Native, included, approval-aware, signable.

Pricebook, line items, discount rules, approval chain, branded PDF, e-sign handoff, and audit log are all on the paid base tier. The seat price listed on the pricing page is the full price. No CPQ SKU, no e-sign add-on, no admin certification.

Common questions

What buyers ask about this feature.

What is quote automation?

Quote automation is the mechanism that turns a product catalog and a deal into a branded, approved, signable quote without a Word-doc edit pass. The pieces are a versioned pricebook, deal-driven line items, discount rules with approval thresholds, a branded PDF template, and an e-sign handoff. Strkr ships all of those pieces on the deal record so a rep assembles a quote in minutes rather than drafting one in a shared Word template.

Does Strkr's quote automation support discount approval chains?

Yes. Discount thresholds are configured per segment and per product. The approval chain is multi-step and supports timeout escalation. Under 10 percent self-approves. 10-25 percent routes to the rep's manager. Over 25 percent routes to manager + director + CFO. The chain configuration lives in Strkr, approval history writes back to the quote record, and the quote-level reporting rolls up approval cycle time by chain.

What does the branded PDF look like?

The PDF is generated from a template with the tenant's logo, color, header, and footer. Line items, discount, totals, and legal terms land in the configured positions. The output is boardroom-ready and does not require a design pass per quote. Teams typically set up the template once; subsequent quotes inherit the branding automatically. The PDF preview is one click from inside the quote editor.

How does the e-sign handoff work?

Strkr integrates natively with DocuSign and PandaDoc. The rep clicks Send for Signature; the quote routes to the e-sign vendor with the recipient list from the deal. The signature event writes back to the deal via webhook, which can trigger the closed-won flow (invoice, project create, renewal opportunity). The handoff removes the manual "mark the deal closed when the signature lands" step.

Can quote automation produce audit trails for compliance?

Yes. Every edit, approval, send, and signature is captured on the quote record with timestamp and actor. The audit trail answers "what version did we send and who approved it?" in seconds. Compliance teams can export the trail as CSV or push to a SIEM endpoint. The audit layer is included on the paid base tier with no per-event meter.

How is Strkr's quote automation priced versus a CPQ platform?

Quote automation is on the paid base tier at the same seat price as the CRM. There is no CPQ SKU, no e-sign add-on, no document-generation meter. Teams moving from Salesforce CPQ to Strkr typically see the per-user cost drop by a factor of three or four, and the admin configuration pass shrink from a quarterly project to a one-time setup. Teams moving from Word + email approval see the quote cycle shrink from days to minutes.
